Special Custom heavy canvas XL WHELEN(ish), canvas & leather tent tarp

Custom version of a Whelen style cotton canvas tarp tent with tweaks to make your camp comfier and much quicker to pitch- the Thornhill UltraHeavy Whelen(ish) has No top bar or fixed poles - just use a couple of sticks, hiking poles or dedicated tarp poles to pitch so you should be able to pitch nice and tight within a couple of minutes, you'll need two guylines (not provided)

The principal idea of the WHELEN(ISH) is a minimal setup that allows an open.fire to be used near to the tarp for warmth and great views in the morning but still providing wind and rain protection beyond what a tarp normally provides.

The XL Whelen(ish) gives roughly 4'6" x 7'6" floor cover (~1.4m x 2.3m) and comes with 12 tie outs and 4 panel pulls in 3mm riveted leather. All leather used is genuine vegetable tan and will patina / scratch up with age with brass d rings for extra bling 

This version in in raw 16oz canvas duck, perfect for old school classics looks 

New tweaked design from me with larger shaped front flap neater reinforcements more making an even stronger and more stable tarp with better weather protection.Heavy duty waxed cotton canvas and leather construction meaning that the plastic sound of a nylon tarp in the wind and rain is avoided and instead you get a calming outdoor experience.
